The Roeblingagon is a 10-foot tall, 20-foot diameter, dome-like installation that is inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge. The structure radiates outward from the center of a semi-sphere. During the day, the installation will cast abstract shadows from the desert sun, taking full advantage of the playa's unique and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. At night, it will be lit with an array of color-changing LEDs, providing a beacon that the New York burner community can rally around. The structure also features climbable netting, making the effigy interactive!
Steel, wood, and kevlar wick. A fire prop created in collaboration with Ms. Phoenix.
9 Tetrahedron stars made of steel of fabric, each one representing 1 of the planets of our solar system. The installation was designed to be used as a 3D projection screen. This project was made possible thanks to NYC*Gratitude.
